Quartz No. 2 is the first of my clocks to incorporate a more structured feel to the dial. The carefully hand inked circles and perfectly spaced lines were unheard of in my previous work. Here it was used as a pleasant contrast to the usual disorder. Similarly, the forms in the 7 & 8 position are reminiscent of old english, but aren't quite letters. These nondescript shapes are a good example of the balance between logic and creativity, an important concept in most of my work.
