For this clock, I brought back the fanlike distressed paper that I used on my fifth mechanical. This time around I went quite a bit darker, and used a thick cardstock, rather than the thin rice paper seen in No.5. When this was weathered, it sort of expanded and softened to the point that the surface attained an almost leather like appearance. This effect is consistently repeated in the face of the clock, and also the backs of the hands.
The four small brass icons raising off of the face are a nice contrast to the giant 'Three' twisting off the right side of the clock. Further, the face has detailed, hand painted dial markings; very carefully executed, only to be torn, weathered and faded away.
